Fayette Forward
Back to Basics

My Focus

Housing

  • Declare housing emergency on day one

  • Create unhoused government resource center

  • Penalties for long-term rental vacancies of five months or more

  • Use the tax code to incentivize creative in-fill “middle housing” ideas that are mobility-driven

  • Re-invest into public housing and reimagine the Lexington Housing Authority

Safety

  • Refocus on community policing models

  • Provide scholarships for first-responders to become social workers

  • Large investment into digital/AI policing to monitor internet/social media for criminal activity

Public Mobility

  • Installation of a Smart Signal Traffic Centralized Management System called “Fayette Forward” to connect every traffic light in the county

  • Recreate LexTran to be more effective, efficient and expanded into a regional service

  • Appointment of a sidewalk czar and bike czar to identify poor and unsafe designs that need immediate attention

Economy

  • Create academy that invest, trains and connects mentors to new entrepreneurs and small businesses looking to expand (intending to be the small business capital of Kentucky)

  • Focus on finding manufacturing employer to fill former Trane HVAC facility on Mercer Road

Over the last three years I’ve attended most council meetings and work sessions in our city and one thing is abundantly clear: We can do more.

My campaign is rooted in three simple ideas:

  1. Strengthen community connections

  2. Build an economy for the long haul

  3. Give taxpayers a real return on their investment

I also want to focus on our people — from our seniors and young families to our hardworking middle class and the folks struggling to get by — and delivering every citizen dignity.

My plan will make your government more accessible and responsive to you.
